A Facebook group, Dogs Guardian Angels, is most kindly hosting an online auction for Brambleberry Greyhound RGT, with all money going straight to Sharon for the benefit of the dogs waiting in kennels to be adopted.

We welcome the addition of anything you can donate for sale in the auction – full instructions on how to do this are on the Facebook page – and of course, we’d love to see you all come along to bid on the goods we have on offer. Payment will be by PayPal.

You can find the auction here

There are some pretty nice things listed already:

A pair of handmade silver earrings worth more than £100 – you could grab yourself a real bargain here!
Family history research to four generations, presented as a printable chart
A photo collage of your dog (or cat!)
Greyhound stuffie
Greyhound jewellery
Tee Shirts

More will be added over the weekend and may also be added during the auction itself, so keep checking back!

The Pet & Animal Country Store in Bourne, Lincolnshire has very kindly agreed to host us for a Meet & Greet, with our dogs.

This event will be on 30th November 2013 from 10am until 4pm.

We will be sited inside the store, and there will be access to toilets.  Please do bring your dogs along to meet us, and help us chat to the public if you have an hour or so to spare!

If you follow the link above, you will find a map on the page.

The Van Hage garden centre at Garden Park, Peterborough has very kindly agreed to let us hold two more Meet & Greets in December as part of our Christmas fundraising drive.  This time we are there for late night closing on Thursday and for part of Sunday.

We will set up at 4pm on Thursday 19th December 2013 and will stay until 8pm.

We will set up at 10am on Sunday 21st December and stay until 2pm.

This is an outdoor event, but the shops at Garden Park have a huge overhanging roof covering the outside walkway, and we will have access to toilets and to the cafe where hot food and drinks are available.

The people at Garden Park are lovely, and we usually do quite well there.  Please do come along and support us, whether for half an hour or an hour – or even the whole time!  We’d be very happy to see you, and people do seem to like to talk with the owners of adopted Brambleberry dogs as well as the Brambleberry ‘staff’ running the stand.

The photo above is from Easter.

Brambleberry will once again be at the Great Greyhound Gathering at Nottingham  in September with our stand, and hopefully, one or two Brambleberry dogs. This is a wonderful, fun, greyhound show run by the RGT, with classes for other breeds. It’s packed with merchandising stalls of every doggy kind, and usually has dog-wash trailers on site. Food and drink available, permanent toilet facilities, and an evening of racing for those inclined to stay on for it.

Look out for the dark blue gazebo with the Brambleberry banner – we also have some brand new green RGT bunting which (all being well) will be fluttering in the breeze, too!

Goods on sale will include our unique ‘Greyhound Myths’ series of note cards, the ‘Pawprints in your heart’ sympathy (pet loss) cards (both handmade with genuine photographs), hand braided tag necklaces each with a charm or two, collar charms, jewellery for people, and normal Brambleberry merchandise: trolley coin tokens, biros, poop bags, T shirts etc. I have one or two of Sues’ lovely hand-knitted hounds left, too. Oh, and RGT Christmas cards, if you fancy getting in early and buying at last year’s prices.

We plan on holding a ‘Guess the number of beans in the jar’ contest, which proved quite popular at the recent Dick White Open Day. Prizes are to be announced, but may well include another lovely dog hamper filled with treats, toys etc.

If anyone would like to come along and spend some time with us, lend a hand, donate something for sale, please let me know. All offers are very gratefully received and very welcome. Or just come along and say hi – if you have a Brambleberry hound, we’d love to see them.

More details nearer the time, but this year the Great Greyhound Gathering will be on Saturday 21st September, at Nottingham Racecourse. Plenty of parking available, right next to the event.

Donations for the prizes will be welcome!
